there’s a lot going on in Welcome Back, and none of it is particularly smart. But Bazmee and his writers keep the gags coming at a fast and furious pace, mixing up the corny with the truly inspired. I’m going with two-and-a-half out of five for Welcome Back. It’s pedestrian but unpretentious; I was surprised by how much I laughed.

Frankly Anees Bazmee has pushed the envelope in tom-foolery and dumbass `ness' here. The film is a mishmash of garish sets, mindless action and screeching actors. It's a ham fest that is comparable to brain dead cinema of yore. The saving grace is, some smart one-liners and heartfelt performances. Anil and Nana must be credited for convincingly playing jokers; kudos to Dimple, Paresh and Naseer for letting go. Surely, the stellar cast has done this film either for a handsome payment or in the sincere hope that it will reign at the box office.

Welcome Back is dumb yet entertaining, utterly silly but made with a kind of absurd, warm energy. It's actually amusing even if it goes on far too long, and while I don't recommend going to a theatre to watch this mess, you'll sure get your money's worth watching it on TV. Plus, there's something to be said for a film where the climax features a cute peach microlight bringing about a bunch of killer drones. If only this were shorter, crisper, a bit smarter, with just a touch more… um, control, Mr Bazmee, control.

On the whole, Welcome Back is a worthy sequel to Welcome. It is very funny and, therefore, very entertaining. It will score in the cinemas. However, if in spite of this, it will not be able to make money for its investors, it would be because of the high investment in the making, promotion and release of the film. The continuous flow of releases in the coming weeks will ensure that the window for the film at the box-office is small, and this will tell on its total business.

John Abraham puts in a decent effort and makes his Ajju quite an endearing character. Shruti Haasan looks pretty and that's about it. Overall, it's a fun watch which will keep you snorting and giggling even after you exit the theatre.

Welcome’ had a welcome lightness in most of its steps. And it made us laugh. ‘Welcome Back’, minus Akshay and Katrina, plus John and Shruti, and Dimple and a new girl, and Naseer and Shiney, clomps about, looking for the laughs. And failing, mostly, to find them. jagged narrative and heavy-handed manner of delivering dialogue, much more risible and tasteless than the original, ruins it. We’ve moved on ; the film, and its treatment, hasn’t.

Unlike the previous film where Akshay Kumar held everything together. John Abraham tries his best to do an Akki act, but a weak script pulls him down again and again. Welcome Back is funny in parts, but that ‘Welcome’ fluidity is missing big time. There are moments but they are very limited in number. Welcome Back’s pace is its biggest asset and that may make you enjoy this 153-minute long film.

Welcome Back has some funny one-liners, but they are too few and far between. A couple of the gags, including one in which Uday Shetty and Majnu Bhai play antakshari in a graveyard, are hilarious. But in the main, Welcome Back passes off loads of asinine humour in the guise of comedy.Welcome Back is stuck in the past. Why go there?

The best part about the film is that, Anees has equally balanced the craziness between the first and the second half of the film. The flip side of the film is that there are too many plots and sub plots, which ends up confusing the viewers at times. On the whole, if you enjoy slapstick comedy that defies logic and have enjoyed WELCOME, then WELCOME BACK is surely a paisa vasool entertainer for you.

Anees Bazmee is back with the sequel to his vacuous 2007 comedy Welcome and once again it proves to be a laugh riot — at least in the first half of the film. Yes, with nearly 10 main characters trying to run each other over, it is a riot.Simply leave your brains at home – definitely don’t try understanding the climax – and go have a few laughs this weekend. Watching Anees’ madcap gangsters – Majnu and Uday – jump back into action from where they left off back in 2007 (‘Welcome’) is a tedious exercise. He throws in everything from mindless action, insipid romances, mediocre one-liners, item songs, silly bromances, and cheekily turns up the volume Movies like ‘Welcome Back’ or its predecessor ‘Welcome’ are best left untouched. It’s madness that could entertain you if you are wired weirdly.

Synopsis: Uday Shetty and Majnu Bhai have left the underworld, and are now big businessmen. Two women, Chandni and Maharani, enter their life. Chandni is the new love in Uday Shetty and Majnu's life and both friends dream of tying the knot with her. However, Appa - Uday's father, plays spoilsport by bringing in his other daughter, Ranjana. He tells Uday Shetty to get her married to someone from a good family. Maharani puts a condition that only after her sister is married, will Chandni will marry one of them.
